Music Theory Online

IMG_2033.JPG

With shrinking funds for music education, many school choir and band programs do not have time or resources to devote to a music theory program.

Wondering if your musician could benefit from music theory lessons? Ask him/her:

  • What is a triplet? How is it substituted for another note?

  • What does DS al Coda mean?

  • What is the Circle of Fifths? How can it be used?

  • Name the seven modes in music. Hint: the answer is not “major” or “minor”

If your student can’t articulate answers to these, s/he will benefit from Marjorie’s online music theory lessons.

Marjorie’s concept: Kids have a lot of interests. Driving to all the activities is a small logistical feat. Theory learning activities involve YouTube videos combined with a workbook (average price $15) series designed for beginner through advanced students. The typical length of video plus workbook is 30 minutes. Having trouble with a concept? Book a 30 minute FaceTime appointment with Marjorie to answer your questions in a fun, non-stressful manner.

The course is based on online classes and the correspondence model.

Fee structure differs from in-person piano and voice lessons, but the semester outlay is equivalent.

Contact Marjorie for more information or to schedule a placement assessment.

Homeschooled Students

'This course is ideal for homeschoolers or private schools with a small group of students. Contact Marjorie for details.
